POETICA PETIT #18 – WRITE WITH US + FEAT. YING CHIN

It’s that time of year friends. We’re winding up 2023 in the best way we know how – with writing, music, art, poetry and the gathering of humans at the very beautiful Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf. Plus a harp! This month we have multidisciplinary creative Ying Chin who extraordinarily ticks both boxes for a Poetica event. Ying aka The Harpoet will play her harp for us while we write and then later in the night will play the harp and perform her own poetry. The open mic is open as usual and we have chosen the theme REIMAGINED for the writing prompt. Wine, kombucha, cheese and dates – join us! Limited spots.

Ying Chin is a multidisciplinary creative who sees the world in music and hope. She writes to make sense of her mind, in the hope that she will find what she is looking for, and that a reader might derive some insight that helps with their own journey. As a musician, she loves the cadence of spoken word poetry; the deliberate pitch of each inflection a melody of its own. She will be fusing her words and music for the first time ever on December 7; accompanying some of her poems with original compositions on harp.
