There is so much coming up this month and in September. Let’s start with our next A Whole Album night on August 20. After the huge success of our debut night featuring Radiohead, we are going back in time to one of the greatest albums ever – The Beatles’ Abbey Road and Guy will be playing it ON VINYL!!! For those of you who want to hear this album like you’ve probably never heard it before (says host Guy) – join us. Very limited spots so get booking.

Next up on SEP 5 it’s the first Friday of the month Poems as Prompts workshop. Join Poetica’s Miriam Hechtman for a poetry writing workshop that uses poems as prompts. There is something about sitting and writing in community. It’s a different kind of writing experience – the discipline of time, the engagement with participants, the sounds of writing, and the opportunity to share words with others. Miriam will bring a selection of poems to this session. She will read a poem aloud and then participants choose a ‘golden line’ or theme or form from the poem to prompt them to write their own poem. Then there is quiet writing time. Then a chance to share your poem. Then on to the next poem. And repeat.

Then – in very exciting news, for the first time starting SEP 8, Miriam Hechtman and Vashti Whitfield—two long-time facilitators of creative excavation, expression and reconnection—come together ON LINE to guide a small group through Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way. This is a rare opportunity to sit in an intimate, live circle and explore how creativity can act as a catalyst for awareness, clarity, and momentum. We’ll be moving week by week through the original 12-week structure of Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way—a work that has helped millions reclaim their creative spark—with added layers of poetic inquiry, reflective conversation and expressive tools offered by Miriam and Vashti along the way.
