Celebrate 8 Years of Poetica with these upcoming events

There’s a lot of good things happening in the next few weeks at Poetica. Starting tomorrow:

  3. Oct 16 – Poetica Petit – WRITE WITH US – with music by jasper c-a. Join us for a special writing night amongst the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize exhibition at Woollahra Gallery. Jasper will play for us and we can write. And then we can listen to our poems at the open mic. jasper c-a – Musician / Composer / Improviser – Jasper Craig-Adams is an Eora/Sydney-based multi-instrumentalist whose musical output ranges across genres from the DIY band scene to the corners of the experimental, noise and improvisational world. A founding member of the Eora/Sydney based band Daily Toll, Jasper has recently returned from a tour across the UK in July 2025, touring their recent debut album A Profound Non-Event, and continues to perform in their ever-surprising shows with an upcoming debut at iconic venue Phoenix Central Park on October 30th 2025. Alongside this band world, Jasper has developed his approach to experimentation on various instruments, with primary use of the guitar, in numerous collaborations and improvisational performances. His duo no ceremony with Eora/Sydney based artist Hinano Fujisaki has recently returned from a residency at the prestigious Jazz and Sonic Arts Residency at the Banff Centre in Canada in August 2025, where the duo workshopped and recorded new material as well as recorded various works with international artists. In his solo work as jasper c-a, Jasper works with textural landscapes with minimal electronic manipulation, using bowed guitar, feedback manipulation and gentle preparations to build immersive and unrepeatable performances.
