Last week I used this poem as a prompt for our writing workshop. I described it as an ‘inside’ poem - a poem that you step into, embody. You become the poem. It takes you in. Nite Writes. I’ll bring the prompts. You bring your brilliant minds. We will explore different writing styles and get those words out. Join us for a cup of tea, some jazz and let’s write. Tomorrow night GHOSTEEN - the exquisite album by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds will be played in full and in order with no interruptions, no chatting, no feedback - just pure listening on the best sound system. Join Guy at @163clovelly at 7.30pm, Tuesday night. Bookings essential as limited seating. Join us for the next Poems as Prompts THIS FRIDAY on March 27 at @163clovelly . In the room and on zoom. The weather is changing. Cooler mornings, earlier sunsets. We all know what this means. And for many – it brings the opportunity for more writing, reading, strumming, pondering, and an invite to retreat to observing our inner workings. This is going to be good. On a balmy Sydney night, amongst the purple and greens of Blackburn Gardens, 11 poets from the @alphabetofwomen revisited their poems after six years. Back in 2020, after we had performed our first live reading of the @alphabetofwomen at @bondibowlo , we went in to lockdown. As did the whole world. So, like so many others, we made the most of our distances and time zones and loneliness and freak outs, and we performed 26 poems, by 26 poets live for anyone and everyone. It was magical. Another wonderful week at Poetica with offerings for you to enjoy.
