The weather is changing. Cooler mornings, earlier sunsets. We all know what this means. And for many – it brings the opportunity for more writing, reading, strumming, pondering, and an invite to retreat to observing our inner workings. This is going to be good. On a balmy Sydney night, amongst the purple and greens of Blackburn Gardens, 11 poets from the @alphabetofwomen revisited their poems after six years. Back in 2020, after we had performed our first live reading of the @alphabetofwomen at @bondibowlo , we went in to lockdown. As did the whole world. So, like so many others, we made the most of our distances and time zones and loneliness and freak outs, and we performed 26 poems, by 26 poets live for anyone and everyone. It was magical. Another wonderful week at Poetica with offerings for you to enjoy. Happy international women’s day everyone! Woohoo indeed. One week till the Alphabet meet! It’s been a wee while folks. We are so excited to get the letters back together. 11 of the 26 will be performing their poems and having a chat on March 12 at @woollahragallery . There’ll be wine and cheese and kombucha and a short open mic too. Get booking as limited spots! A new season is upon us. Join us for the next Poems as Prompts on March 6 at @163clovelly . In the room and on zoom. Yes! The @alphabetofwomen are returning for a retrospective to celebrate International Women’s Day. Join us at Poetica Petit at @woollahragallery on March 12 to hear the poems and the stories behind the poems from 11 of the alphabet poets. It’s been 8 years since Miriam penned that first Dear Letter P poem. 6 years since the Alphabet was first performed. 4 years since the book came out with @ginninderra_press . We are thrilled to press rewind and pause and fast forward. Join us. Limited spots so get booking! Cheese and wine and kombucha and a short open mic section too!
