The power of reading lyrics out loud. For an audience. So …. For our brand new LYRICS NIGHT we want you to read your favourite lyrics in the open mic at our next Poetica Petit on Oct 15 at @woollahragallery . Happy 9th birthday POETICA 🎋 What’s in a lyric? How do you go from words to music? What makes a song? “You work on your songs, but your songs also work on you... slowly you start to become some place that songs are passing through.” Tom Waits So the cake topper I ordered with a photo of Mary Oliver and Percy on it - did not arrive. Left to my own devices and a few letter writing tricks I learnt at 15 working at an ice cream store - I decorated the cake with words by Mary. I mean, what better on a cake than lines by Mary Oliver? And as you can see it turned out just fine. Don’t miss this. We are celebrating big. Remember, JOY was not meant to be a crumb.
